Common Ground Hires Communication Director
Lenda Jackson has been appointed director of communications for Common Ground. Jackson will be responsible for managing internal communications as well as promoting the agency’s mission, programs, services, achievements and contributions to the communities it serves.
She will also serve a key role in the successful production and promotion of Common Ground’s 40th Anniversary Celebration (July 16, 2011), which will feature a year-long succession of special events and activities beginning in October, 2010 and culminating with a gala during the late summer-early fall of 2011.
Prior to joining Common Ground, Jackson managed internal and external communications for General Motors Corporation and Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, respectively. She also worked in the non-profit sector, serving as public relations officer at the Museum of African American History and development director at the ACLU Fund of Michigan. Jackson completed requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Wayne State University, with a major in Journalism. She resides with her husband and son in Lathrup Village, MI.
