<p>The Court Liaison’s primary responsibility is to take a lead role in the development of the project by assessing the availability of mental health services in Oakland County, identifying gaps in services, developing procedures for referral to mental health services and for the transmission of information between the criminal justice system and mental health treatment providers. These efforts are geared toward the achievement of positive outcomes for both the individual and society as an alternative to arrest and incarceration of the mentally ill.</p>
<p>The Court Liaison works closely with Community Mental Health Services, Oakland County Substance Abuse Services, and Oakland County Department of Community Corrections, members of the Waterford Township Police Department and the Judges and Probation Officers of the 51<sup>st</sup> District Court.</p>
<p>Additional duties of the Court Liaison include assessing or arranging for the assessment of persons determined to be in need of mental health treatment, assessing or arranging for assessment for eligibility, and arranging for access to Community Mental Health services, services available through the Office of Substance Abuse Services and the Department of Community Corrections, and when necessary private mental health resources available in the community. The liaison is expected to serve and assist the Waterford Township Police Department, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and the Judicial System.</p>
<p><strong>JOB FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Determine strengths, weaknesses and gaps in mental health services available in Oakland County.<strong></strong></li>
<li>Complete an inventory of existing mental health services in the community and develop procedure for maintaining inventory of services.<strong></strong></li>
<li>Complete or arrange for timely assessments and recommend proper course of action.<strong></strong></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Within HIPPA guidelines, share and retrieve information between mental health services providers, the Police, Sheriff, Probation Officer and others related to treatment progress and program adherence.</li>
<li>Determine if individuals do not appear to understand their rights, and communicate with law enforcement and Court staff when sufficient level of understanding does not seem achievable.</li>
<li>Attend Court hearings and provide the Court with information regarding the individuals’ treatment, services, and supports.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and current records and reports. Ensure that proper consent forms and other documents are completed.</li>
<li>Offer to participate in the individuals’ Person Centered Plans.  Monitor treatment plan progress and delivery.</li>
<li>Respond appropriately to the requests of all Law Enforcement, Mental Health and Court staff.</li>
<li>Collaborate with CMH, OSAS agencies, Law Enforcement, Court, and other community service providers; ensure that all needed updates between the aforementioned parties occur.</li>
<li>Report to Law Enforcement and Court in regard to clients’ progress (including noncompliance to a diversion program).</li>

<li>Open and distribute daily incoming mail.  Check for outgoing mail and apply appropriate postage.</li>

<li>Assist in office supply ordering, inventory and postage meter requirements.</li>
<li>Change the CRC data back-up tape on a daily basis.</li>
<li>Coordinate the completion of Incomplete Record Report.</li>
<li>Prepare assessment packets and copy all material to be used.</li>
<li>Record Maintenance and filing</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>

<li>Make Follow-up Survey calls and fill out responses appropriately.  Deliver completed forms to the Quality Improvement Administrative Assistant.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Request case numbers for OCCMHA recipients (via Provider Connect)</li>
</ul>

<li>High School diploma or GED</li>
<li>Previous telephone/receptionist experience</li>

<p>We&#8217;ve added more photos and the capability for posting more video and links to other sites.  We&#8217;ll be adding more news, more often as well as information about all the programs and services we offer.
