Crisis & Resource Hotline and Teen 2 Teen Talk Line

Crisis line volunteers, 18-years or older, counsel callers and provide information and referrals from a database of more than 4,500 sources.
Our Teen 2 Teen Talk Line provides an outlet for local teens to talk anonymously and confidentially with a peer about issues they are facing. The line (1.800.231.1127) is available seven days per week, 24 hours per day. Volunteers, ages 16 – 24-years-old, counsel callers and provide information and referrals from a database of more than 4,500 sources.
For both the Crisis & Resource Hotline and the Teen 2 Teen Talk Line, volunteers receive more than 70-hours of professional training to prepare them for crisis calls. The training program, offered three times a year, includes in-depth sessions on domestic violence, sexual assault, mental illness, suicide, substance abuse, codependency and youth issues, as well as communication skills.
Once trained, volunteers are asked to work one weekly four-hour shift. Youth Residential Programs
Volunteers, 18-years or older, are needed in two of our youth residential programs to interact with residents, handle walk-ins, intakes, assist with group counseling, information requests, crisis calls and provide other assistance as needed.
Volunteers receive more than 15-hours of professional training to prepare them for work with the young people. The training program is offered three times a year. Once trained, volunteers are asked to work one weekly five-hour shift.
